Vladivostok, June 17th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the United Russia Party.
Liu stated, under the strategic leadership of President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin, China-Russia relations have maintained high level of development. Not long ago, President Xi Jinping and the visiting President Vladimir Putin comprehensively summarized the successful experience in the development of bilateral relations and jointly issued an important statement on deepening China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era, outlining a blueprint for the future development of relations between the two countries. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia. After 75 years of solid accumulation, the consensus of ever-lasting friendship and the momentum of all-round cooperation between China and Russia have converged into a powerful driving force for both countries to brave the wind and rain and keep moving forward. China-Russia relations have become a model of a new type of international relations and relations between neighboring major countries.
Liu noted, exchanges between ruling parties are a vital component of China-Russia relations. The CPC is willing to work with the United Russia Party to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, enhance interactions between the two Parties at all levels and in various forms, engage in mutual learning on topics such as state governance and administration, youth cadre training, and grassroots party building, further strengthen institutionalized exchanges between the two Parties, and provide assistance for practical cooperation in various fields between the two countries. The CPC congratulates the United Russia Party on successfully hosting the international inter-party forum in the BRICS and partner countries and is willing to strengthen multilateral coordination and cooperation with the Russian side to contribute more wisdom and strength to the development of China-Russia relations in the new era.
Medvedev welcomed Liu and the CPC delegation, stating that the Russian side regards the Chinese side as a priority cooperation partner, and that the current Russia-China relationship is at its best in history. A month ago, President Vladimir Putin, after beginning his new term, chose China as the first country to visit, attracting widespread international attention. The visit was a complete success, further demonstrating the high level of Russia-China relations. The Russian side is willing to take the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries as an opportunity to deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields and strengthen coordination in mechanisms such as BRICS and in international affairs. Next year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the World War II, and the Russian side is willing to jointly host related activities with the Chinese side to commemorate the significant contributions and sacrifices made by both countries for the victory of the World War II. The CPC is the key partner of the United Russia Party in Asia, and the United Russia Party is willing to strengthen high-level exchanges, expand youth exchanges, and enhance cooperation in cadre training with the CPC to promote the development of bilateral relations.
