Liu Jianchao Meets with Maksim Ryzhenkov, Foreign Minister of Belarus

Beijing, July 9th–Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Maksim Ryzhenkov, Foreign Minister of Belarus.  


Liu stated that under the strategic guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, the all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Belarus has been moving forward on a high level in recent years. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Belarusian side to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, respect and support each other’s choice of a development path and domestic and foreign policies, firmly support each other in safeguarding respective core interests, strengthen the alignment of development strategies, promote pragmatic cooperation in various fields, expand people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and push bilateral relations for new development.  

Liu said, the CPC maintains close interactions with major political parties of Belarus, acting as a supporter and promoter of the two countries' friendship. The CPC is willing to enhance exchanges and cooperation with Belarusian political parties to strengthen the political and social foundations of the China-Belarus friendship. The IDCPC is ready to deepen institutionalized exchanges with the Administration of the President of Belarus to promote the development of China-Belarus relations in the new era. The Chinese side congratulates the Belarusian side on becoming the 10th member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and is willing to strengthen multilateral coordination with the Belarusian side to jointly address global challenges. President Xi Jinping said China proposes that SCO member states do more to share their experience on governance and hold the SCO Political Parties Forum at an appropriate time while attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Plus Meeting. The CPC is ready to strengthen cooperation with Belarusian political parties within the SCO framework to jointly safeguard regional and global peace, stability, development and prosperity.  

Ryzhenkov said, Belarus and China are ironclad brothers. And the profound friendship between President Alexander Lukashenko and President Xi Jinping provides an important guarantee for the development of bilateral relations. Under the guidance of the two heads of state, Belarus and China have established an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership, bringing bilateral relations to the highest level in history. The Belarusian side appreciates the valuable support of the Chinese side and firmly supports its position on the Taiwan question, issues related to Xizang, human rights, as well as the three major global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping. The Belarusian side will fully support the Chinese side in fulfilling its responsibilities as the rotating chair of the SCO and is willing to work together to enhance the role of the SCO in regional and international affairs. Belarusian political parties hope to strengthen exchanges with the CPC, deepen cooperation in cadre training and other areas, and support the Chinese side in hosting the SCO Political Parties Forum. The Administration of the President of Belarus maintains close relations with the IDCPC and hopes to strengthen institutionalized exchanges to promote cooperation in various fields and the development of relations between the two countries.
