The CPC and CDU/CSU Hold the 13th Party Dialogue

Berlin, September 24th—The CPC and the CDU/CSU held here today the 13th Party Dialogue, with the theme of “political party responsibilities and China-Germany cooperation in the face of profound changes in the world.” Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, Johann Wadephul, Vice-Chair of the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group in the German Bundestag, and Jens Spahn, Vice-Chair of the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group in the German Bundestag attended and delivered speeches. More than 40 members of the CPC delegation and the CDU/CSU were present.

The two sides believed that since the establishment of relations between the CPC and the CDU/CSU of Germany, the exchanges between the two sides have been continuously deepened and have played a unique role in promoting the development of the relations between the two countries. The two Parties should strengthen political dialogue, increase mutual trust, reduce misgivings, build consensus, and expand cooperation. The two sides had candid and in-depth exchanges on such topics as "diplomacy and security" and "economy and trade". The two sides agreed to continue to conduct the dialogue between the two Parties and make efforts for the sustained, sound and stable development of China-Germany relations.
