Beijing, November 28th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Prak Sokhonn, Chairman of the External Relations Commission of the Central Committee of Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia.
Liu said, in recent years, under the strategic guidance and personal promotion of the leaders of the two countries, China and Cambodia have carried out fruitful cooperation at all levels and in various fields, bringing great benefits to the two peoples. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Cambodian side to strengthen high-level exchanges, deepen strategic mutual trust, and promote the in-depth and solid development of the building of a China-Cambodia community with a shared future. The CPC is willing to work with the CPP to implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two Parties, strengthen strategic communication and political dialogue, intensify cooperation in cadre training and other fields, promote youth exchanges, and advance greater development of China-Cambodia relations. The Chinese side congratulates the CPP on successfully hosting the 12th International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) not long ago, and is willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with the Cambodian side in international and regional affairs and make positive contributions to promoting world peace and development.
Prak Sokhonn noted, currently, Cambodia-China relations are at the best period in history, and the Cambodia-China community with a shared future has entered a new era of high quality, high level, and high standards. Firmly adhering to the one-China principle, the Cambodian side thanks the Chinese side for its long-term valuable support to Cambodia, and is willing to work with the Chinese side to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two Parties and the two countries, strengthen high-level exchanges, deepen political mutual trust, continuously enrich the "Diamond Six Sides" cooperation structure, and take the construction of the "Industrial Development Corridor" and the "Fish and Rice Corridor" as the starting point to deepen cooperation in various fields. Last year, the two sides signed a memorandum of exchange and cooperation between the two Parties. The CPP is willing to take this opportunity to strengthen exchanges of experience in state governance and administration with the CPC.
Ma Hui, Vice-minister of the IDCPC, Soeung Rathchavy, Cambodian Ambassador to China, Eat Sophea, Secretary of State of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia and Vice Chairwoman of the External Relations Commission of the CPP Central Committee, and Kem Sambath, Vice Chairman of the External Relations Commission of the CPP Central Committee, and others were present.
