Liu Jianchao Meets with Murat Nurtleu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan

Astana, March 26th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Murat Nurtleu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan. 


Liu said, President Xi Jinping and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev reached important consensus on the establishment of the China-Kazakhstan permanent comprehensive strategic partnership, and jointly opened a new chapter of "golden 30 years" for the development of bilateral relations. The permanent comprehensive strategic partnership applauds the achievements made in bilateral relations, and more importantly, showcases our confidence and development goal of bilateral relations in the future. The robust development of China-Kazakhstan relations has not only brought tangible benefits to the two peoples, but also made important contributions to peace, stability and prosperity of the region and world. China is willing to work with Kazakhstan to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, continue to firmly support each other on issues concerning respective core interests, and deepen practical cooperation. 

Liu said, profound changes unseen in a century are accelerating across the world. Developing countries including China and Kazakhstan are rising collectively. China is willing to strengthen solidarity and coordination with Kazakhstan under multilateral frameworks such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the China-Central Asia Mechanism, help Central Asia maintain stability and prosperity and continuously advance the process of regional integration, as well as inject more stability and certainty into the turbulent world. Exchanges between the two countries' political parties play a unique and important role in the development of bilateral relations. The CPC is willing to strengthen institutionalized exchanges and political dialogues with the main political parties of Kazakhstan, enhance mutual understanding and trust, strengthen the docking of development strategies, promote practical cooperation in various fields, and push China-Kazakhstan relations to a new level. 


Nurtleu said, Kazakhstan and China are good neighbors and trustworthy partners to each other. Under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, Kazakhstan-China relationship has been elevated to a new height in history. Developing a permanent comprehensive strategic partnership and deepening cooperation with China are the priorities of Kazakhstan's diplomacy, which are not affected by the international situation and geopolitics. Kazakhstan thanks China for the support for Kazakhstan's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and is willing to continue to firmly support each other and deepen practical cooperation in economy, trade, investment, culture, and the Belt and Road cooperation. Kazakhstan highly appreciates China's responsible position and important role on international and regional issues, firmly supports the three major global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping, and is willing to strengthen coordination with China within multilateral frameworks such as the United Nations, the SCO, the China-Central Asia Mechanism, Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the China-Central Asia Mechanism, and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), as well as jointly safeguard regional peace and stability and international fairness and justice. 

Both sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.
