Chongqing, April 20th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with a delegation of political parties of Brazil led by Baleia Rossi, President of the Brazilian Democratic Movement.
Liu said, President Xi Jinping and President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva have elevated China-Brazil relationship to a China-Brazil community with a shared future for a more just world and a more sustainable planet, charting the course for the future development of bilateral relations. As major developing countries and Global South countries, China and Brazil play an important role in international affairs. The strategic impacts and broad scope of China-Brazil relationship have become increasingly prominent, and exert important significance on the world. China is willing to, together with Brazil, strengthen high-level exchanges, enhance the alignment of development strategies, and expand practical cooperation in various fields. At present, profound changes unseen in a century are accelerating across the world with multiple risks and challenges intertwined. China is willing to work with Brazil to reinforce coordination and cooperation within multilateral mechanisms such as the BRICS and the Group of 20, safeguard the common interests of developing countries, work for a more just and equitable international political and economic order, and inject more stability and positive energy into the world. The CPC is willing to strengthen exchanges with all political parties in Brazil, enhance mutual understanding, and continuously consolidate the political and social foundations of the China-Brazil comprehensive strategic partnership.
Rossi said, Brazil-China relations are currently at the most important period in history and carry important strategic significance. This year is an important year for bilateral relations. The fourth Ministerial Meeting of the China-CELAC Forum will be held in China, while the 17th BRICS Summit and the 30th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 30) will be held in Brazil. Brazil is willing to strengthen high-level mutual visits with China and strengthen cooperation in agriculture, clean energy, climate change, poverty reduction, scientific and technological innovation and other fields. Brazilian political parties are willing to strengthen exchanges with the CPC and promote the modernization process of respective countries.
