Beijing, July 11th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Nangolo Mbumba, former President of Namibia.

Liu highly spoke of Mbumba's long-term contributions to the development of China-Namibia and China-Africa relations. Liu said, the current international landscape is marked by transformation and turbulence, with increasing turbulence and conflicts. President Xi Jinping has proposed the Global Civilization Initiative and sent a congratulatory letter to the Global Civilizations Dialogue Ministerial Meeting, advocating the maintenance of the diversity of human civilizations and the promotion of world peace and development, providing a Chinese solution for promoting human unity. China-Africa unity represents the strengthening of the Global South and the forces of justice. China is willing to work with Namibia and other Global South countries to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, promote people-to-people friendship, advance mutual learning among civilizations, enhance multilateral coordination, firmly uphold the international system with the United Nations at its core, safeguard each other's legitimate rights and interests, and inject more positive energy into building a community with a shared future for mankind.

Liu said, the CPC and the SWAPO Party of Namibia share similar political ideas and similar struggles, and both have contributed to the cause of human peace and development through our own practices. Currently, the CPC is uniting and leading the Chinese people to promote Chinese modernization on all fronts. The CPC is willing to carry forward the tradition of friendship and mutual trust with the SWAPO Party, deepen exchanges of experience in party building and state governance, strengthen exchanges in areas such as youth and women, and promote practical cooperation in various fields.

Mbumba said, I am honored to be invited to China to attend the Global Civilizations Dialogue Ministerial Meeting. Namibia supports China's efforts to promote exchanges and integration among civilizations and looks forward to in-depth cooperation with China under the framework of the Global Civilization Initiative to accelerate the implementation of the meeting's outcomes in Namibia and on the African continent. The cooperation between Namibia and China is based on mutual respect, understanding and trust, and is not targeted at any third party or subject to any third party. I look forward to the continuous deepening of friendly cooperation in various fields between the two countries to achieve long-term mutual benefit and win-win results. The SWAPO Party is willing to deepen exchanges of experience in party building and state governance with the CPC, enhance shared vision and understanding, provide guidance and guarantee for the development of Namibia-China relations, and continuously inject impetus into the development of Africa-China relations.

Li Mingxiang, Vice-minister of the IDCPC, attended the meeting.
