Liu Jianchao Meets with Senior Officials of Singapore

Singapore, July 24th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Janil Puthucheary, Senior Minister of State at the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment of Singapore and Jasmin Lau, Member of Parliament (MP) of the People's Action Party (PAP), Minister of State for Digital Development and Information and Minister of State for Education of Singapore. 


Liu first visited the One Punggol under the Singapore People's Association, and watched Jasmin Lau and voters of the Ang Mo Kio Group Representation Constituency communicate. Liu said, the CPC and the PAP have similar concepts in practicing the mass line, improving governance at the primary level, and improving conduct, and face similar tasks in how to govern well and better serve the people. Liu expressed the willingness to deepen exchanges on topics such as party building, mass work, social governance, and volunteer services within the framework of an annual delegation exchange mechanism, share latest practices, and better move forward together. 


Janil Puthucheary and Jasmin Lau introduced the Singaporean government's efforts in strengthening its ties with the people through the People's Association, providing one-stop government services, and helping the people solve difficulties in their life through the mechanism of meeting between MPs and voters respectively. They said that both the PAP and the CPC regard serving the people as their missions, and expressed the hope to further strengthen exchanges between the two Parties and enhance respective decision-making capabilities, so as to provide the people with higher quality public services. 


On the same day, Liu also visited the Singapore Hybrid-Integrated Next-Generation μ-Electronics (SHINE) Centre where he learnt about Singapore's efforts to promote the commercialization of scientific and technological innovation and Singapore's cooperation with China in cutting-edge technology. 

Cao Zhongming, Chinese Ambassador to Singapore, and Boh Wai Fong, Vice President of Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore, attended relevant events.
