Liu Haixing Meets with Mikko Kinnunen, Finnish Ambassador to China

Beijing, March 13th—Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Mikko Kinnunen, Finnish Ambassador to China. 


Liu said, the traditional friendship between China and Finland is profound. Over the 76 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China and Finland have always maintained friendly coexistence and mutual respect and trust, setting a model for equal exchanges between countries that transcend historical, cultural and institutional differences. Inter-party relations between the two countries play an important role in bilateral relations. The CPC stands ready to strengthen exchanges with major political parties of Finland, jointly implement the important consensus reached between President Xi Jinping and Finnish leaders, deepen exchanges of experience in state governance and administration, promote cooperation and exchanges in economy and trade, youth and other fields, and facilitate the development of China-Finland and China-Europe relations. Liu also introduced the relevant situation of the Two Sessions, the annual sessions of the National People's Congress (NPC) and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in China. 

Mikko Kinnunen said, Finland attaches great importance to its relations with China. In recent years, high-level exchanges between the two countries have continuously driven the development of bilateral relations. Finland has always adhered to the one-China policy and is willing to work with China to enhance exchanges at all levels and promote cooperation in various fields such as science and technology, education, trade and investment. The Finnish Embassy in China will continue to maintain close communication with the IDCPC, jointly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, and strengthen exchanges and dialogues between political parties and legislative bodies.
