Beijing, March 19th—Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Marta Betanzos, Spanish Ambassador to China.

Liu said, since the establishment of diplomatic relations over 50 years ago, China and Spain have always viewed and developed bilateral relations from a strategic and long-term perspective, setting an example of friendly coexistence and common development between countries with different historical cultures and social systems. Inter-party exchanges are an important part of China-Spain exchanges. The CPC is willing to strengthen exchanges and dialogue with major Spanish political parties, enhance mutual understanding and political trust, promote people-to-people bonds and practical cooperation, and facilitate the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations. This year marks the beginning of the 15th Five-Year Plan, and China will further expand high-level opening up and is willing to share opportunities with Spain and other countries around the world.
Betanzos said, in recent years, Spain-China relations have maintained a sound momentum of development, with frequent high-level mutual visits and continuous strengthening of exchanges between political parties and localities. China’s 15th Five-Year Plan will bring more opportunities for Spain-China and Europe-China cooperation. The Spanish Embassy in China is willing to maintain close communication with the IDCPC and make efforts for inter-party exchanges and the development of Spain-China relations.
