Beijing, May 25th—Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a delegation led by Milos Vucevic, President of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS).

Liu said, last year, President Xi Jinping and President Aleksandar Vucic met twice, engaging in in-depth exchanges on a series of major issues and reaching important consensus. This has provided a solid strategic guarantee for the in-depth development of bilateral relations. The ruling parties of China and Serbia share similar governance philosophies and goals, and inter-party exchanges have become an important part of bilateral relations. The CPC stands ready to work with the SNS to fully implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, take the signing of the memorandum on exchanges and cooperation between the two Parties as an opportunity to strengthen institutionalized exchanges, promote the alignment of development strategies and practical cooperation through inter-party channels, deepen exchanges and mutual learning of experience in state governance and administration, firmly support each other’s core interests and major concerns, and contribute to the building of a China-Serbia community with a shared future in the new era. Liu also briefed on the CPC's education campaign on establishing and practicing a correct view on governance performance.

Vucevic said, in recent years, President Aleksandar Vucic and President Xi Jinping have maintained close communication, injecting strong impetus into the in-depth development of the ironclad friendship between Serbia and China. Developing friendly relations with China is one of the main pillars of Serbia’s foreign policy. The Serbian side stands ready to work with the Chinese side to strengthen high-level exchanges, deepen the alignment of development strategies, enhance people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and advance practical cooperation in various fields. The Serbian government and the SNS firmly support China’s legitimate position on issues concerning core interests such as the Taiwan question. The SNS admires the CPC’s far-sighted vision and rich governance experience, and stands ready to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state through inter-party channels, strengthen experience exchanges in party building and state governance within the framework of the upcoming memorandum on exchanges and cooperation between the two Parties, deepen cooperation in women’s affairs, youth, media and other fields, and make greater contributions to a Serbia-China community with a shared future in the new era.
Sun Haiyan, Vice-minister of the IDCPC, Milenko Jovanov, a member of the Presidium of the SNS and Head of the SNS parliamentary group in the Serbian National Assembly, and others, attended the meeting.
