Beijing, July 13th — Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Bertrand Lortholary, French Ambassador to China. 

Liu said that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Emmanuel Macron, China-France relations have continued to make new progress. China is ready to work with France to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, uphold equal dialogue and open cooperation, and promote the healthy and stable development of the China-France comprehensive strategic partnership. China and the EU are important economic and trade partners of each other, with shared interests far outweighing differences. The two sides should strengthen communication and coordination, properly handle differences through dialogue and consultation, jointly uphold the big picture of China-EU cooperation, and inject more stability and certainty into the world economy. 

Bertrand Lortholary said that since President Macron's visit to China last December, France-China relations have maintained a positive momentum of development. France firmly pursues the one-China policy and is willing to work with China to jointly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, maintain close high-level exchanges, deepen strategic communication, and expand practical cooperation. It is in the interests of both sides for the EU and China to meet each other halfway and properly handle differences. France is ready to make efforts to promote the steady development of EU-China relations. 

The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual concern.
