Beijing, July 23rd—Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with a delegation of politicians from multiple political parties of Italy led by Vinicio Peluffo, President of the "Friends of China" Parliamentary Association of Italy.

Liu said that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and the Italian leaders, the China-Italy comprehensive strategic partnership has continued to deepen and expand in both width and depth, with fruitful outcomes in cooperation across various fields. The sound development of China-Italy friendship would not have been possible without the support of friendly forces, including the "Friends of China" Parliamentary Association of Italy. The CPC is willing to strengthen exchanges and dialogue with the "Friends of China" Parliamentary Association and Italy's major political parties, deepen mutual learning on party governance and state administration, expand cooperation in such fields as economy and trade, sub-national exchanges and youth through the "political parties +" channel, and continuously contribute to the sustained and steady development of China-Italy relations. Cooperation between China and Europe far outweighs competition, and consensus far outweighs differences. The Chinese side stands ready to strengthen communication and dialogue with the European side, properly handle frictions and differences, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.

Peluffo said that in recent years, high-level exchanges between Italy and China have been frequent, and bilateral relations have maintained steady development. He said he was pleased to visit China on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the CPC. Through extensive inter-party dialogue and visits to places including Nanhu Lake in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, he had gained a better understanding of the CPC. Members of the "Friends of China" Parliamentary Association come from different political parties and, despite holding different political views, are all committed to promoting friendly cooperation with China. In the face of a complex and evolving international situation, the Italian side supports enhanced dialogue between Europe and China, deeper cooperation on the basis of mutual trust, and the development of Europe-China relations toward mutual benefit and win-win cooperation.

The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common interest.

Ma Hui, Vice-minister of the IDCPC, Massimo Ambrosetti, Italian Ambassador to China, and representatives of Forza Italia, the Democratic Party, the League, and the Five Star Movement attended the meeting.
