On July 18th local time, the CPC in Dialogue with World Political Parties High-Level Meeting Africa Thematic Event concluded in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania.

Xu Lyuping, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended and addressed the closing ceremony. Xu expressed that under the joint efforts of China and Africa, the thematic event has come to a successful conclusion with smooth completion of various agendas. During the thematic event, consensus has been reached on mutual learning between Chinese and African political parties as well as on jointly creating the future for China and Africa. All representatives present agreed that we should actively explore development paths that are suitable to respective national conditions, constantly extend development paths to modernization for mankind, make full use of the leading role of political parties, and forge the core of leadership for national development. We should strengthen exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and African political parties, and set up an example of a new type of party-to-party relations. We should push forward China-Africa cooperation in the new era, and promote the building of an even closer community with a shared future for China and Africa. It is hoped that all relevant parties will take this thematic event as a starting point to constantly improve the perspectiveness and practicality of dialogue between Chinese and African political parties, so as to facilitate China-Africa comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to constantly reach new levels. 

The thematic event kicked off on July 17th. Representatives of about 40 Chinese and African political parties from nearly 40 countries and of the Council of African Political Parties had heated discussions centering on Theories and Practices of Chinese and African Political Parties in Exploring Development Paths Suitable to National Situations. All the representatives discussed together the strategy of national governance and planed for the future of China-Africa relations from the strategic height of human civilization and modernization development, and put forward the scheme of the political parties for forging the China-Africa comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership facing the new era and for building an even closer community with a shared future for China and Africa.

Hosted by the CPC, this thematic event is an important activity to implement the initiative of institutionalized dialogue put forward by General Secretary and President Xi Jinping at the CPC in Dialogue with World Political Parties High-Level Meeting in December, 2017. It is the first time for the high-level meeting to go global and go into Africa. The event also actively cooperates with the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
