Beijing, December 3rd—Zhu Rui, Assistant-minster of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today on the morning with a study group of the Iranian Expediency Discernment Council headed by Mohsen Kazemeini, Deputy Secretary of the Iranian Expediency Discernment Council.
Zhu made positive comments on China-Iran relations, stressing that China always views and develops relations with Iran from a strategic perspective. The IDCPC is willing to deepen exchanges and cooperation with the Iranian Expediency Discernment Council, strengthen strategic communication and mutual learning of ideas, and jointly push forward China-Iran comprehensive strategic partnership. Zhu also elaborated on China’s principled position on the Hong Kong issue.
Kazemeini said that Iran regards China as a strategic partner and the Iranian Expediency Discernment Council is ready to work with China to promote practical cooperation and people-to-people bonds within the framework of the Belt and Road cooperation and push for new achievements in bilateral relations. Iran firmly supports China's position on the Hong Kong issue and strongly opposes and condemns the United States for interfering in China's internal affairs under the pretext of "human rights and democracy".
