The International Department of the CPC Central Committee Holds a Briefing on the Spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee for Representatives of Foreign Business Chambers and Multinational Companies

Beijing, November 12th—The International Department of the CPC Central Committee held a briefing here today on the spirit of the fifth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee for representatives of foreign business chambers and multinational companies. Over 100 representatives from organizations and enterprises of major economies such as the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, France and Japan and Fortune Global 500 companies were present.

Hu Zhaoming, Spokesperson of the International Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, Zhang Yansheng, Chief Research Fellow of China Center for International Economic Exchanges, and Liu Quanhong, Deputy Director Institute of Market and Price of Academy of Macroeconomic Research, comprehensively introduced the development achievements on all fronts China has made since the implementation of the 13th Five-Year Plan, especially the main content and the profound significance of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) and the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035. They stressed, under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, China will continue to expand opening up, strengthen international cooperation on areas such as jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative and share its development opportunities with the world.

Representatives of the foreign business chambers and multinational companies present spoke highly of the huge achievements China has made during the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020). They said, the fifth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee has drawn the blueprint for the economic and social development for China’s the 14th Five-Year Plan Period (2021-2025) and a longer term, pays more attention to the quality and efficiency of economic development, and proposes tangible measures on areas including expanding domestic demand, opening-up, scientific and technological innovation and green development, which will not only boost China’s prosperity and development, but will also vigorously push world economic recovery in the post-pandemic era. Foreign business chambers and companies are fully confident in China’s development prospects, and hope to strengthen cooperation with China in investment, economy, and trade, so as to promote the common development of the world and China.
