Qian Hongshan Meets with Members of a Seminar for Cadres of African Political Parties Themed on “Jointly Build a Future: Poverty Alleviation and Development” via Videolink

Beijing, October 28th—Qian Hongshan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today via videolink with members of a seminar for cadres of African political parties themed on “jointly build a future: poverty alleviation and development”. Chen Xiaodong, Chinese Ambassador to South Africa, Guo Shaochun, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Yang Jun, Charge d'affaires of Chinese Embassy in Namibia, Xu Chen, Minister Counsellor of Chinese Embassy in Tanzania, were present.

Qian introduced the achievements and experience of the CPC since it was established 100 years ago, and mainly introduced General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important exposition of the whole-process people’s democracy and the Global Development Initiative he put forward at the general debate of the 76th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly. Qian said, the friendship between the CPC and African political parties has withstood the test of time, and is getting stronger. The CPC is willing to strengthen inter-party exchanges and share its experience accumulated over the past 100 years with African political parties, and jointly enhance the capability of seeking happiness for the people.

Cadres of African political parties said, CPC’s practice in governance provides valuable experience for developing countries. African political parties thank the CPC for the vigorous support for poverty alleviation and development to Africa, and hope to continue to conduct exchanges and cooperation in poverty alleviation and other issues with the CPC.

Over 80 young cadres from the SWAPO Party of Namibia, South African Communist Party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) of Tanzania and Zimbabwe African National Union – Patriotic Front were present.
