Zhu Rui Meets with Sameeh Hayat, Kuwaiti Ambassador to China

Beijing, April 7th--Zhu Rui, Assistant-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today on the afternoon with Sameeh Hayat, Kuwaiti Ambassador to China.

Zhu said, the high level of China-Kuwait strategic partnership is reflected in the high-level guidance and close communication between President Xi Jinping and Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the similar positions, solidarity and coordination the two countries share on major international and regional affairs, and the common expectations and solid steps of both sides in promoting further development of China-Kuwait relations in the next 50 years. The IDCPC is willing to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with all sectors of Kuwait, including government, National Assembly, think tanks, and media, and enhance political mutual trust and exchange of ideas between China and Kuwait, so as to push new progress for China-Kuwait relations. Zhu also introduced concepts such as the whole-process people's democracy and a community with a shared future for mankind to the Kuwaiti side.

Hayat congratulated China on the complete success of "Two Sessions", appreciated China's achievements in fighting the COVID-19 and its important contributions to the world's fight against the epidemic, and wished the 20th CPC National Congress a success. Hayat said that he had closely followed the major conferences of the CPC and the important speeches of General Secretary Xi Jinping since he assumed the post as Kuwaiti Ambassador to China six years ago. Kuwait attaches great importance to learning from China's ideas and experience, and is willing to work with China to promote the relations between Kuwait and China, Gulf Cooperation Council and China, as well as Arab states and China for new and greater development under the new circumstances.

Both sides also exchanged views on hotspot issues such as the Ukrainian issue and the Iranian nuclear issue.
