Guiyang, February 25th—Ma Hui, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended here today on the morning the inauguration of the Guizhou NGO Network for International Exchanges. Lu Yongzheng, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee and Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee, and Liu Yuankun, former Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Guizhou Provincial People's Congress and Head of the Guizhou NGO Network for International Exchanges, attended and addressed the function. Ma Hui and Lu Yongzheng unveiled a plaque to mark the inauguration. More than 100 representatives from relevant departments of the provincial government and governments at the municipal and prefectural level of Guizhou, and members of the Guizhou NGO Network for International Exchanges, were present.

Ma combined the importance of people-to-people diplomacy under the new situation and put forward suggestions on effectively promoting international exchanges of social organizations. He encouraged social organizations of Guizhou Province to shoulder more responsibilities of serving the overall picture of the national development and play an active role in enhancing the friendship and forging closer bonds between the Chinese and peoples of all countries. He hoped that the Guizhou NGO Network for International Exchanges would better integrate resource and strengthen team building, continuously enhance the awareness and ability of social organizations of Guizhou Province to "go global", and actively explore the international development path of social organizations that meets local development needs with local characteristics.
