Nanchang, March 24th—Lu Kang, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended here today on the morning the opening ceremony of a training program themed on "heart-to-heart connections" and a capacity-building workshop on international engagement for local social organizations. Xia Wenyong, member of Jiangxi Provincial People's Government Leading Party Members Group and Vice Governor of Jiangxi Province attended and addressed the function. The event attracted over 250 participants, including representatives from 33 ministries, and commissions, and representatives from relevant departments, social organizations, think tanks, universities, media, and enterprises of 31 provinces, cities and autonomous regions. 

Lu said, at present, changes unseen in a century are accelerating and the world has entered a new period of turbulence and change. People-to-people diplomacy, a basic work enhancing friendship between people of different countries and promoting state-to-state relations, has become more prominent. We must keep in mind the matters of national significance, work proactively, proceed from the characteristics and advantages of people-to-people diplomacy, carry out "small and beautiful" livelihood projects, vigorously promote exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, tell stories of people-to-people bonds well, enhance international communication capabilities, promote the high-quality development of "heart-to-heart connection" work, help social organizations go global, and contribute to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
