Beijing, September 15th—Sun Haiyan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with a training class composed of over 20 young leaders from political parties and media of 15 neighboring countries.

Sun said, China and its neighboring countries enjoy geographical proximity and share weal and woe. China has always attached great importance to developing its relations with neighboring countries, adheres to the principle of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness, and promotes the building of a community with a shared future with neighboring countries. The world today is undergoing both transformation and upheaval, and the information technology revolution is accelerating. Political parties in neighboring countries are facing similar tasks and challenges in the fields of information dissemination and public communication. China is willing to enhance exchanges and cooperation with political parties and media in its neighboring countries, jointly improve the ability to guide public opinion and communicate with the people, and work together to address the challenge of false information. China welcomes young representatives of the media to enhance their understanding and objective perception of China through extensive exchanges and making more friends, so as to introduce a true and multi-dimensional China to their own people.

Representatives from political parties and media in neighboring countries highly praised China's policies and practices in its neighborhood diplomacy. They said, under the new circumstances, we are willing to strengthen exchanges of experience in communication and media cooperation with China, jointly address challenges such as "fake news" in the information age, enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the people of regional countries and the Chinese people, and jointly maintain regional peace, stability, development and prosperity.
