Beijing, October 16th—Jin Xin, Assistant-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Ahmad Tahsin Ahmad Berwari, the newly-appointed Ambassador of Iraq to China.

Jin welcomed Berwari to take up his new post in China and said, China is willing to work with Iraq to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries. Taking the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the strategic partnership between China and Iraq as a new starting point, China is committed to promoting the continuous development of bilateral relations. The CPC has established friendly relations with all major political parties in Iraq and is willing to further enhance exchanges of ideas, practical cooperation, mutual learning of civilizations and people-to-people bonds through inter-party exchanges.
Berwari said, the Iraqi leaders and government attach great importance to developing relations with China and appreciate the four major global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping. Iraq is willing to continuously deepen mutual learning of ideas and practical cooperation between the two countries. As the rotating chair of the League of Arab States, Iraq strongly supports collective cooperation between the Arab states and China and is willing to work with China to successfully hold the second Arab States-China Summit next year. All political parties in Iraq attach great importance to developing friendly relations with the CPC. The Iraqi Embassy in China will continue to provide active support for inter-party exchanges between the two countries.
