Beijing, November 26th—Ma Hui, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a delegation of 19 think tank scholars from 17 countries.

Ma briefed the foreign side on how the CPC and Chinese people won the fight against poverty under the leadership of General Secretary Xi Jinping. He said, China's great achievements in poverty alleviation cannot have been made without the leadership and personal dedication of General Secretary Xi Jinping. In particular, General Secretary Xi Jinping's people-centered governance philosophy and rich working experiences at the grassroots level have provided theoretical guidance and made significant contributions to advancing China's poverty reduction efforts. Ma briefed on the spirit of the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and said, the plenary session adopted the Recommendations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development, providing a top-level design and strategic planning for China's economic and social development in the next five years. This is not only a new blueprint for China but also a new opportunity for the world. Ma elaborated China's position on Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s erroneous remarks on Taiwan, emphasizing that China is capable of defending its national sovereignty. China will never allow Japan’s right-wing provocateurs to turn back the wheel of history, never allow external forces to lay their hands on China’s Taiwan region, and never allow the resurgence of Japan’s militarism.
The foreign side admired General Secretary Xi Jinping's leadership as a leader of both a major country and a major party. They said, China's experience in poverty alleviation can provide useful references for other developing countries. Speaking positively of the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, they noted, China has achieved remarkable economic and social development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, setting a fine example for the Global South in seeking peaceful development. The Recommendations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development have sent a positive signal to the world that China will adhere to opening up, cooperation, and mutual benefit. Many think tank leaders said, the erroneous remarks on Taiwan made by the Japanese leader are a gross interference in China's internal affairs and may lead to regional tensions, and we firmly support the one-China principle and China's solemn position.
