IDCPC Delegation Visits Hungary and Attends the 6th Asia–Europe Political Forum

From November 27th to 29th, Sun Haiyan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), led an IDCPC delegation to visit Hungary and attend the 6th AsiaEurope Political Forum. During the visit, Sun met with Gál Kinga, Vice-President of Fidesz and Member of the European Parliament of Hungary, Istvan Jakab, Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly, and Boglarka Illes, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Sun also held exchanges with Kover Laszlo, Chairman of the Board of Fidesz and Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, and Zsolt Németh, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Fidesz. At the Eurasia Center, Sun held a special symposium with representatives from Hungarian political parties, think tanks, media, and friendly organizations to discuss the spirit of the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and new opportunities for China-Hungary cooperation. Gong Tao, Chinese Ambassador to Hungary, was present at the relevant activities. 


Sun said, China and Hungary share a profound traditional friendship. In recent years, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Viktor Orban, exchanges and cooperation in various fields between China and Hungary have enjoyed rapid development. The CPC and Fidesz have actively implemented the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, and political mutual trust has been deepened. The CPC is willing to deepen exchanges of experience in state governance and administration and strengthen communication and coordination at bilateral and multilateral levels within the framework of the all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership for the new era between China and Hungary, and make more contributions as political parties to the development of China-Hungary relations. The fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee has drawn up a blueprint for China's development in the next five years, which will bring more opportunities for cooperation between China and Hungary. 

The Hungarian side spoke highly of the tremendous development achievements made by China in the new era, believing that China's development is characterized by continuity and stability, and the 15th Five-Year Plan will further promote cooperation between the two countries and Hungary's own development. Gál said, Fidesz values its friendly relations with the CPC and is willing to deepen cooperation between the two Parties and expand exchanges among young people to better contribute to the development of Hungary-China relations. Jakab said, the deep personal friendship and good working relationship between the leaders of the two countries have led to the continuous development of Hungary-China relations. Hungary hopes to further explore cooperation potential in areas such as green energy and agriculture with China. Illes said, the relationship between Hungary and China is characterized by a long-standing traditional friendship, and the fruitful cooperation between the two countries shows that a partnership based on mutual respect, dialogue, and mutual trust can bring tangible benefits to both countries. 

Sun delivered a speech at the 6th AsiaEurope Political Forum, introducing Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy and the spirit of the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee in an in-depth manner. Sun said, the CPC is willing to focus on development and cooperation with political parties in Asia and Europe to promote peace and democracy through prosperity and stability. During the forum, she also had extensive and in-depth exchanges with representatives of participating political parties on issues of common interest.
