Lu Kang Holds 2026 Chinese New Year Exchange Event with Diplomatic Envoys of Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Iceland to China

Beijing, February 11thLu Kang, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), held here today a 2026 Chinese New Year exchange event with ambassadors and senior diplomats of Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Iceland to China. The participants visited the Beijing World of Robots and held discussions. 


Lu said, since last year, China has maintained close high-level exchanges with Nordic countries, and bilateral relations have maintained a sound momentum of development. China stands ready to work with Nordic countries to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two sides, strengthen the alignment of development strategies, advance bilateral relations, and contribute to world peace, stability and prosperity. The CPC is willing to enhance exchanges with political parties of Nordic countries, deepen exchanges and mutual learning on state governance and administration, and promote practical cooperation across various fields. Lu also briefed the participants on Chinas economic situation, major measures for comprehensively deepening high-level reform and opening up during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), as well as the development of Chinas artificial intelligence and robotics industries. 

The diplomatic envoys of Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Iceland to China spoke positively of relations between China and Nordic countries and expressed willingness to further promote inter-party exchanges and support the China-Nordic young politicians dialogue to enhance mutual understanding and trust. They said, Nordic countries pay close attention to Chinas 15th Five-Year Plan, commend Chinas breakthrough progress in artificial intelligence, robotics manufacturing and electric vehicles, and are particularly impressed by the application of robots in the medical field. They expressed readiness to expand mutually beneficial cooperation with China in economy and trade, science and technology, and green development, and strengthen communication and coordination on international affairs.
