Lu Kang Meets with Clément Gignac and Zoe Royer, Co-Chairs of Canada-China Legislative Association

Beijing, March 16thLu Kang, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Senator Clément Gignac and MP Zoe Royer, Co-Chairs of the Canada-China Legislative Association. 


Lu said, with joint efforts from both sides, ChinaCanada relations are improving, a development widely welcomed by various sectors in both countries. China is ready to work with Canada to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, enhance communication and dialogue, expand cooperation in trade and investment, strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and promote the sound, stable and sustainable development of ChinaCanada relations. The IDCPC is willing to carry out more exchanges and dialogue with the Canada-China Legislative Association and political parties in the Canadian Parliament to enhance mutual understanding and trust. 

The Canadian side said, it is actively working to recalibrateCanadaChina relations and is pleased to see the turnaround in bilateral ties. Various sectors in Canada highly commend the visit to China by Prime Minister Mark Carney, look forward to implementing its outcomes, strengthening economic and trade cooperation and people-to-people and cultural exchanges with China, and welcome more Chinese enterprises to invest in Canada. The Canada-China Legislative Association will continue to promote exchanges between the two countrieslegislative bodies and political parties and contribute to the development of bilateral relations.
