Beijing, April 28th—Lu Kang, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a delegation led by Manuel Pineda, Secretary of International Relations of the Communist Party of Spain (PCE). 

Lu elaborated on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, spoke positively of relations between the two Parties and the two countries, and briefed the guests on China’s 15th Five-Year Plan. He stated that the CPC stands ready to deepen theoretical exchanges with the PCE, strengthen solidarity and coordination, jointly safeguard world peace and stability, and continuously enrich the connotation of the China-Spain comprehensive strategic partnership through a “political party + practical cooperation” mechanism. 

Pineda noted, the PCE has firsthand experience of the practical achievements of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and admires the economic and social progress the Chinese people have made under the leadership of the CPC. As a party participating in state governance, the PCE is willing to further learn from the CPC’s experience in party governance and state administration, promote the alignment of the two countries’ development strategies, and jointly defend international fairness and justice. 

Following the meeting, Lu and Pineda witnessed the signing of a letter of intent for establishing friendly city-county relations between Xingtang County of Hebei Province and Mieres City, governed by the PCE.
