Vientiane, April 27 -- Member of the Political Bureau and Executive Member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and Vice-president of Laos Bounnhang Vorachith met yesterday in Vientiane with Assistant Minister Yang Yanyi of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee who is heading a goodwill party delegation for a visit in Laos.

Bounnhang said, there is a good momentum for the development of relations between Laos and China with new achievements made in practical cooperation in various fields. Laos is satisfied with such developments. The LPRP, the Lao Government and the people of Laos are grateful for China’s assistance over the years and are ready to implement the important consensus reached by leaders of the LPRP and the CPC and state leaders and deepen cooperation in various fields so as to promote the continued development of Laos-China relations.

Yang said the Chinese side cherishes the traditional friendship with Laos. The new leadership team of the CPC Central Committee is willing to work together with the Lao side to build on the momentum of the relationship and continue to implement the '16-word principle' and the 'four-good spirit' so as to safeguard, consolidate and develop the comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation between China and Laos.

Chinese Ambassador to Laos Bu Jianguo was present at the meeting.
