DALIAN July 27 -- With the theme of Experience of Improving Party Conduct and Upholding Integrity under New Conditions, the ninth CPC-CPV Theoretical Seminar, jointly organized by the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), was opened this morning in Dalian City of China’s Liaoning Province. Liu Qibao, member of the Political Bureau and minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, and Dinh The Huynh, member of the CPV Central Committee's Political Bureau, head of the Central Commission for Popularization and Education and chairman of the Central Theory Council, attended the opening ceremony of the seminar.
During his keynote remarks entitled Practice and Experience of the CPC in Improving Party Conduct and Upholding Integrity, Liu pointed out that the key to attaining the two centennial goals proposed by the 18th CPC National Congress and realizing the Chinese Dream of the great renewal of the Chinese nation lies in continuously strengthening party building by imposing strict disciplines on its members. Liu said that to further improve party conduct and uphold integrity, we should enhance the Party’s style of work to maintain its close ties with the people, improve the system of punishment and prevention to build up an all-sided firewall of strategic importance to combat corruption and promote clean government and adopt harsh punitive measures to keep a high pressure on corruption. We should also advance the education of upholding integrity to draw up a moral line of defense against corruption, strengthen checks and supervision to put power into the cage of institutions and advocate reform and innovation to make the Party’s work more scientific, said Liu.
Liu spoke positively of the theoretical discussion between the two parties and stressed that the CPC is ready to deepen its exchanges with the CPV in state governance experience to improve party-building on both sides.
Dinh The Huynh made a keynote speech entitled Practice and Experience of Building a Clean and Strong CPV under New Conditions.
