JAKARTA, Nov. 22 -- Sun Chunlan, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee, met here yesterday with Indonesian Vice President Boediono.
Sun said that China and Indonesia had a long tradition of friendship and new progress was made in bilateral relations when ties were lifted to comprehensive strategic partnership during President Xi Jinping’s visit in October.
Sun expressed hope that the two countries step up practical cooperation in various fields to enrich the strategic relations.
Sun briefed Boediono on the recently concluded third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee, marking it as a crucial meeting held at an important juncture of China’s reform and opening-up. She said that at the plenum, the guidelines, objectives and key principles were identified for deepening all-around reforms, which was the major topic of discussion, and major breakthroughs were made the theories and policies of reform. Deepening reforms in a comprehensive way will provide strong impetus for China’s development and more opportunities for the world.
Boediono expressed congratulations on the success of the plenum and hopes for more success in China’s endeavor of reform and opening-up across the board. He is confident that China’s reform and opening-up will be a boon for regional and global prosperity.
He added that Indonesia gives premium to its relations with China and is willing to join hands with China to implement the important agreement of leaders of the two countries so as to further promote bilateral relations and practical cooperation.
Yesterday Sun also met with Chairman Aburizal Bakrie of the Party of the Functional Groups. She met with Chairperson Megawati Sukarnoputri of the Indonesian Democratic Party – Struggle today and Syariefuddin Hasan, Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Minister and executive chairman of the Democratic Party.
