ADDIS ABABA, Sept. 17 -- Zhao Hongzhu, member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and deputy secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, met with Hailemariam Desalegn Boshe, Chairman of the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) and Government Prime Minister of Ethiopia. Zhao was paying a visit to Ethiopia as head of the CPC delegation.

Zhao conveyed the greetings of both President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang to the Ethiopian Prime Minister. He said that in this year alone, General Secretary Xi Jinping and Chairman Hailemariam have met three times and have charted direction of the friendly cooperation between the two sides under the new circumstances after their in-depth exchanges of views. The Chinese side will earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the two leaders by way of increasing exchanges and cooperation at different levels and sharing experience of governance, so as to facilitate the continued development of the state-to-state relations of friendly cooperation, said Zhao.

Hailemariam asked Zhao Hongzhu to convey his greetings and best wishes to President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang. He said that Ethiopia was grateful for the precious support China offered to the country’s economic and social development. Ethiopia and China share many similarities, including similar governing principles of the political parties. The Ethiopia People's Revolutionary Democratic Front is willing to strengthen contact and cooperation with the Communist Party of China, deepen exchanges of experience so as to further enhance the comprehensive cooperative partnership between China and Ethiopia.

During his visit, Zhao Hongzhu held working talks with Demeke Mekonnen, Vice Chairman of the EPRDF and Deputy Prime Minister. Zhao also held talks with Muktar Kedir, member of the Executive Committee of EPRDF, Coordinator with the rank of Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Civil Service on improving Party conduct and integrity. Zhao also met with Tewodros Adhanom, EPRDF Executive Committee member and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Desse Dalke, President of the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and People's Region (SNNPR), Zhao also visited the SNNPR and EPRDF organizations at various community levels.
