Zhao Hongzhu meets with Equatoguinean President

Yaoundé, Sept. 20 -- Zhao Hongzhu, member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and deputy secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, met yesterday with the Leader of the Democratic Party (PDGE) and President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea Teodoro Obiang. Zhao was paying a visit to the country from September 17th to 19th as head of the CPC delegation.

Zhao spoke highly of the relations between China and the Equatorial Guinea and their fruitful cooperation in different fields since the beginning of the diplomatic relations 43 years ago. Based on strong economic complementarity, the prospects of collaboration between the two countries are great. China values its relations with Equatorial Guinea and is willing to further develop the friendly cooperation together with the latter, said Zhao. Talking about the long-term friendly relations between the CPC and the PDGE, Zhao expressed hope that exchanges will be continued and that such relations be elevated to a new level by means of sharing governance experience and conducting joint programmes of human resource development.

During his stay in the country, Zhao also met with the Equatoguinean Prime Minister Vicente Ehate Tomi, and held talks with the Secretary-General of the PDGE and the Second Deputy Prime Minister Lucas Nguema about party-to-party relations. He also inspected programmes of China-Equatorial Guinea economic and trade cooperation.
