BEIJING, Dec. 5 -- Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee Yu Hongjun met in Beijing on 5th of December with the Egyptian non-governmental delegation made up of former government high officials, political party leaders, religious personages and media representatives.

Yu briefed the guests on the 3rd Plenary Session of the CPC's 18th Central Committee. He said China and Egypt have a long tradition of friendship and China always approaches its relations with Egypt from a strategic high and with a long-term perspective. China respects the road of development chosen independently by the Egyptian people according to their national conditions and wishes that all relevant parties in Egypt will resolve differences through an inclusive dialogue and realize stability and development of the country at an early date. China is willing to work with Egypt to promote a continuous development of the strategic and cooperative relations.

The Egyptian side congratulated the CPC on the successful convention of the 3rd Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee and expressed gratitude for China's position on the changes in the situation of their country and for China's support to the road chose by the Egyptian people. The Government, the political forces and the people of Egypt all cherish the relationship with China and hope to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in various fields and bring the strategic and cooperative relations to a higher level.
