BEIJING, Feb.20--Li Jinjun, vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here this morning with the delegation of the Portuguese Communist Party (PCP) led by its Secretary-General Jeronimo de Sousa.

Li spoke highly of the PCP’s efforts over the years for the development of relations between China and Portugal. He said that the CPC highly values the traditional friendship with the PCP and is willing to further the relations between the two parties and to promote exchanges and cooperation in different fields between the two countries.

Jeronimo de Sousa said his party appreciates what the CPC has achieved in leading the Chinese people in building socialism. The Portuguese Communist Party stands ready to strengthen the friendly exchanges with the CPC, so as to move the bilateral relations forward and bring more benefits to the two peoples.
