SUZHOU, April 23 – Vice-Minister Li Jinjun of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met here today at noon with Matos Rosa, Secretary-General of the Social Democratic Party of Portugal (PSD), who was in Suzhou attending the Fourth China-Europe High-Level Political Parties Forum. Li said

that the CPC sets great store by its relations with the PSD and is ready to further strengthen exchanges with the latter and promote a sustained and sound growth of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Portugal.

Rosa said, the PSD applauds the remarkable achievements that the CPC has made in leading the Chinese people in the country's economic and social development and that his party is ready to strengthen the friendly relations with the CPC and facilitate the bilateral relations between the two countries.

Deputy Director-General Yu Xiaoxuan of Bureau VIII of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee was there during the meeting.
