SUZHOU April 23 -- Vice minister Li Jinjun of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met this morning with Benk Korthals, chair of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy of the Netherlands (VVD), and Pieter Van de Stadt, the Party's secretary on international relations, who were in China to attend the fourth China-Europe High-Level Political Parties Forum.

Li extended welcome to Korthals to the Forum, believing that dialogue among political party leaders will further deepen China-Europe relations. He spoke highly of exchanges and cooperation between China and the Netherlands in political, economic and cultural fields as well as in the field of humanities, and put forward concrete suggestions on how to further relations between the CPC and the VVD.

Korthals highly complimented the organization of the Forum, saying that the Forum has offered an important platform for exchanges between politicians of China and Europe. He reaffirmed his commitment to the development of relations between China and the Netherlands, hoping that the two sides can work together to further promote bilateral cooperation in various fields.

They also exchanged views on the issues of human rights and the rule of law.
