SUZHOU, April 23 -- On the afternoon of April 23, Chen Fengxiang, vice-chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress and vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met with Lubomir Zaoralek, vice-chairman of the Social Democratic Party and deputy speaker of parliament and shadow foreign minister of the Czech Republic, who are in China to attend the Fourth China-Europe High-Level Political Parties Forum.
Chen spoke highly of the Social Democratic Party for its long-time commitment to the development of relations between the two parties and two countries. He expressed the CPC's willingness to further deepen relations between the two parties based on the four principles guiding inter-party relations to make due contribution to the sound development of bilateral relations.
Zaoralek expressed condolences for the earthquake in Ya'an and appreciation of the Chinese government’s ability in dealing with emergencies. He once again congratulated on the convening of the 18th National Congress of the CPC and the new leadership of the Chinese party and government. He said that the Forum has a clear-cut theme centering on the big interests of China-Europe relations, which helps to enhance mutual understanding and build consensus.
The two sides also had in-depth exchange of views on domestic situation and parliamentary elections to be held in the Czech Republic in 2014.
