SUZHOU, April 23 -- Chen Fengxiang, vice-chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the 12th National People's Congress and vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met with Secretary General Gawkowski and International Secretary Golota of the Democratic Left Alliance (SLD) of Poland who were attending the Fourth China-Europe High-Level Political Parties Forum.

Chen extended welcome to them for their participation in the Forum and praised the long-term friendly cooperative relations between the CPC and the SLD. The two sides exchanged ideas on future exchanges.

Gawkowski thanked the CPC for the invitation and spoke highly of the organization of the Forum. He expressed confidence in the Forum, saying its success will deepen the friendly cooperation between the CPC and European political parties and promote the sound and steady development of China-EU comprehensive and strategic partnership.

The two sides also had an in-depth exchange of views on the current situation of the SLD, the prospects of the European left-wing and other issues of common interest.
