SUZHOU, April 23 -- Chen Fengxiang, vice-chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the 12th National People's Congress and vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met this morning with Birutė Vėsaitė, vice-chair of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party and minister of Economy of Lithuania, Sergejs Dolgopolovs, member of the Harmony Centre party of Latvia, deputy of the 11th Saeima, and chairman of the Saeima State Administration and Local Government Committee, and Kalev Kallo, member of the Centre Party of Estonia and the 12th Riigikogu, and vice-chairman of the Estonia-China Parliamentary Group. The party leaders were attending the fourth China-Europe High-Level Political Parties Forum in Suzhou.
Chen Fengxiang expressed thanks to the party leaders for their parties' participation in the Forum, and appreciation for their long-term efforts of promoting party-to-party exchanges and cooperation with the Communist Party of China. Chen stressed that, given the new international circumstances, the China-Europe High-Level Political Parties Forum proves to be an important platform for Chinese and European political parties to enhance dialogues and build consensus, and, therefore, is of positive significance in increasing mutual political trust and deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between China and Europe.
The leaders from the three countries all said that their parties pay great attention to relations with the Communist Party of China, and expressed willingness to continue working with China for substantial progress in business and cultural cooperation through party-to-party exchanges.
