BERLIN, July 10th -- Hu Chunhua, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, who is paying a visit to Germany, met on the afternoon of July 8th in Munich, capital city of Bavaria, with Horst Lorenz Seehofer, Chairman of the Christian Social Union (CSU) and Minister-President of Bavaria.
Hu Chunhua commended the relations between China and Germany which have been growing steadily in recent years. Germany leads the EU in relations with China, and closer relations between China and Germany serve the fundamental interests of the two countries and the two peoples. China is willing to exchange experience with Germany in governance and explore new ways of boosting bilateral relations and stands ready to build new platforms for practical cooperation, said Hu.
Seehofer spoke highly of the cooperation between Germany and China since the beginning of their diplomatic relations some 40 years ago and said that his state Bavaria as an economic center of Germany and even of Europe is willing to strengthen cooperation with Guangdong province in human resource development, exchanges between young people and other kinds of personal relations as much as in business and trade. A friendly relationship between Bavaria and Guangdong will help boost relations between Germany and China and even those between the EU and China, said Seehofer.
Hu Chunhua met in Berlin today respectively with Chairman of the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group in the Bundestag, Volker Kauder, Vice-Chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Germany and Mayor of Berlin Klaus Wowereit, and Minister of State at the German Chancellery, Eckart von Klaeden.
