BEIJING, July 11th -- Chinese Vice-President Li Yuanchao met today in Beijing with Stephen Perry, chairman of the 48 Group Club of Britain.
Li said that developing Sino-British relations serves the fundamental interests of the two peoples and our two countries have great potential for cooperation given the strong economic complementarity. Li hoped that by carrying on the pioneering spirit of “the Icebreakers” who broke the economic and trade obstacles 60 years ago, the business communities of the two countries can focus on long-term interests, seize development opportunities and nurture new areas for mutually beneficial cooperation so as to make new contribution to expanding economic and trade cooperation and deepening the bilateral relations.
Perry said that the 48 Group Club is ready to adapt to the global trend of economic and trade liberalization and continue to push forward the economic and trade cooperation between Britain and China in the spirit of “the Icebreakers”.
