BEIJING, August 26 -- Vice-chairman of the National Committee of the CPPCC and minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee Wang Jiarui met on the morning of the 26th in Beijing with the delegation of the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) led by Martin Callanan, chairman of the political group of the European Parliament.

Wang extended welcome to the delegation on behalf of the International Department and said that the visit will be an opportunity for political exchanges between the ECR and the Communist Party of China. He called upon the European Parliament to have a more objective, fair and comprehensive understanding of China and of the CPC. Callanan said his group values the relationship with the CPC based on candid, open and constructive dialogues. The two sides exchanged views on international and regional issues of shared interests.
