BEIJING, August 27 -- Vice-minister Yu Hongjun of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met here today with a delegation of young politicians from Nordic Countries including representatives of the Liberal Party of Denmark, the Christian Democratic Party of Sweden, Centre Party of Finland, and diplomats from Denmark and Finland.
Yu stressed that the strengthening of inter-party exchanges and mutual learning between the CPC and Nordic political parties is of great importance, hoping the delegation can gain a more comprehensive and objective understanding about China and the CPC. Yu also briefed the guests on the 18th National Congress of the CPC and the annual sessions of the NPC and CPPCC National Committee, emphasizing that China will continue a path of peaceful development to foster a peaceful and stable external environment for realizing the two "centennial goals" and the "Chinese dream".
Karsten Lauritzen, member of the Danish Parliament for the Liberal Party who acted as the rotating head of the delegation, spoke positively of the achievements China has made in its economic and social development and the role it plays in global affairs, saying that the trip will surely increase the delegation's understanding about China and the CPC and promote pragmatic cooperation between China and Nordic countries.
The delegation started the visit to China from Beijing on August 25th upon the invitation of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee. During its stay in Beijing, the delegation held discussions with officials from the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, the CPPCC National Committee, the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, Ministry of Environmental Protection, and All-China Federation of Trade Unions. Apart from Beijing, the delegation also visited Hebei Province and Shanghai.
