BEIJING, Dec. 3 -- Vice-minister Yu Hongjun of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met here today with Swedish ambassador to China Lars Freden upon the request of the latter.

Yu spoke positively of China-Sweden relations and applauded Sweden for its rich experience in promoting social fairness and clean governance. Yu said that the CPC is ready to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning with Swedish political parties to further propel a sound and stable relationship between China and Sweden. Yu also answered the ambassador's questions concerning the recently concluded third plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee.

Ambassador Freden said that frequent high-level exchanges between Sweden and China in recent years have greatly promoted the bilateral relations. Sweden follows closely the development of China and its efforts in comprehensively deepening reforms and is ready to work in concert with China to enhance mutual understanding and further promote the all-rounded development of the bilateral relations, said the ambassador.
