BEIJING, May 28 -- An International Seminar on "China's Development Strategy and China-US Relations" organized by China Center for Contemporary World Studies (CCCWS) of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee was held in Beijing today. The seminar was chaired by Liu Jieyi, vice-minister of the International Department and executive chairman of the CCCWS Council, and attended by Chinese experts from the International Department, CPC Central Foreign Affairs Office, Central Party School, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Commerce, Development and Research Center of the State Council, China Institute of Contemporary International Relations and China Institute of International Studies, as well as scholars from American universities and think tanks such as the Johns Hopkins University, Heritage Foundation and Cato Institute.

The Chinese side pointed out that China is committed to promoting economic, political, social, cultural and ecological progress, and will unswervingly pursue the path of peaceful development and an opening-up strategy of mutual benefit. China is working hard to realize the Chinese dream to achieve the grand "two centennial" goals and the great renewal of the Chinese nation. A China that enjoys political stability and economic prosperity and is open to the world is not only good for the wellbeing of the Chinese people, but also good for people in China's neighborhood and the world. China’s development strategy can help to strengthen strategic trust and cooperation between China and the US for win-win results. China is willing to work together with the US to implement the important agreement reached by their top leaders to promote their cooperative partnership and make explorations to build a new type of relations between major countries based on equality and mutual trust, inclusiveness and mutual learning, and win-win cooperation.

The American side said that China's development not only helps to improve the wellbeing of its own people, but also opens up important opportunities for US-China exchanges and cooperation. The US attaches high importance to its relations with China, and is willing to work together with China to enrich bilateral relations to jointly build a new type of major-power relations.
