Liu Jieyi meets with vice president of Vanuatu Greens Confederation

BEIJING, June 3 -- Vice-minister Liu Jieyi of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met today at the International Department with MP Toara Daniel Kalo, vice-president of the ruling Vanuatu Greens Confederation (VGC) and VGC MP Arnold Prasad, second deputy speaker. Both MPs are in China for the Special Conference of ICAPP (International Conference of Asian Political Parties) held in Shaanxi, and then paying a visit to the capital city Beijing. The two sides exchanged views on deepening China-Vanuatu relations.

Liu Jieyi spoke highly of the bilateral ties and the friendly relations between the Communist Party of China and the VGC. China and Vanuatu are cooperative partners that treat each other with sincerity and mutual trust. Both the CPC and the VGC shoulder responsibilities to lead economic development in their respective country and improvement of the people's livelihood, and they are both committed to the concept of green and sustainable growth. China is willing to share experience of governance with Vanuatu, and believes that the two shall support each other for common development and thus promote peace, stability and prosperity in the Asia Pacific region and safeguard the rights and interests of the developing world at large, said Liu.

Kalo said his Party thanks the Chinese side for inviting their leaders to the ICAPP Special Conference and to visit China. Their delegation has benefited from this trip. Vanuatu cherishes the friendly relations with China and is grateful for the sincere and selfless support by China to their country over the years. Kalo mentioned the visit to China in the year 2008 by then the opposition leader and President of Vanuatu Greens Confederation and current Prime Minister of Vanuatu Moana Carcasses. That visit enhanced the mutual understanding and friendship between the VGC and the CPC. He reiterated the commitment of the Government and all political parties of Vanuatu to the One-China policy and to deepening practical cooperation with China in various fields for the betterment of the wellbeing of people in both countries.
