BEIJING, Dec. 5 -- Vice-minister Yu Hongjun of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met in Beijing on the 5th of December with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Tonga to China Siamelie Latu.

Yu spoke highly of the relations between China and Tonga and said that the Communist Party of China has had fruitful exchanges and cooperation with the Legislative Assembly of Tonga and the Chinese side is willing to work together with Tonga in promoting greater achievements in the bilateral relations and exchanges in various other fields.

Latu commended the major development of relations between the two countries in recents years and said that the exchanges between the CPC and the Legislative Assembly of Tonga have helped to forge an objective understanding about China and a consensus about a positive relationship with China in his country.
