Beijing, January 31st—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Liow Tiong Lai, President of the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) and Minister of Transport.
Song expressed that both China and Malaysia are friendly and close neighbors sharing mutual trust and win-win cooperation. China attaches high importance to developing traditional friendly relations with Malaysia, and is willing to, together with Malaysia, actively implement the important consensus reached by leaders of both countries, expand cooperation in various fields and promote the “Belt and Road” cooperation between both countries to achieve more fruitful results. The CPC pays attention to developing friendly relations with all political parties in Malaysia including the MCA, and hopes to enhance political mutual trust, learn the experience on party governance and state administration from each other and well guide bilateral public opinions through party-to-party exchanges, so as to play a greater role in boosting bilateral relations and practical cooperation.
Liow Tiong Lai expressed that the MCA highly values the friendly relations with the CPC, appreciates and admires the great outcomes achieved from socialist cause with Chinese characteristics under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee with General Secretary Xi Jinping as the core, and hopes to learn from the CPC’s experience on party governance and state administration, strengthen mutual understanding and trust between the two peoples, and promote the in-depth development of practical cooperation in various fields between both countries under the framework of the “Belt and Road”.
