Baku, July 22nd--Ilham Aliyev, Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party and President of Azerbaijan, met here today with Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.

Song said that President Xi Jinping's meeting with President Aliyev in April this year has charted the course for the future development of bilateral relations. The CPC is willing to deepen friendly exchanges with the New Azerbaijani Party, enrich the connotation of cooperation, jointly implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries, and make greater contribution to the new development of China-Azerbaijan relations.

Aliyev expressed his congratulations on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 70th anniversary since the governance by the CPC. He said Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the exchanges between the two Parties and is willing to take the opportunity of jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative to elevate bilateral cooperation in various fields to a higher level.
