Baku, July 23rd—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Ramiz Mehdiyev, Head of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan.

Song said that China and Azerbaijan are traditional friendly and cooperative partners. In recent years, thanks to the guidance and personal efforts of President Xi Jinping and President Ilham Aliyev, China-Azerbaijan relations have maintained a sound and steady momentum of development. In April this year, President Xi and President Aliyev met in Beijing and reached broad consensus, opening up broad space for the future development of bilateral relations. China is ready to work with Azerbaijan to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and push for further development of China-Azerbaijan relations.

Mehdiyev noted that Azerbaijan regards China as a good friend and good partner and thanks for China's consistent support to Azerbaijan. Admiring the great achievements made by the CPC in its 70 years of governance, Azerbaijan hopes that China will play a more important role in international and regional affairs. The Azerbaijani side will study and learn from the successful experience of the CPC in party governance and administration. The New Azerbaijan Party is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the CPC and contribute to elevating relations between the two countries to a new level.
